Buyer guide

Plan a corrugated mailer around the complete pack-out

A mailer box must protect the packed product through fulfilment and courier handling while still opening cleanly for the customer. Internal size, flute, board grade, closure, insert design, print coverage and shipping tests should be planned as one system.

Compact E-flute mailers

A common choice for cosmetics, accessories, subscription products and printed presentation when a finer flute profile and accurate folds are important.

Protective B-flute mailers

Useful when the pack needs additional stiffness or cushioning. Product weight, empty space, closure retention and outer-carton strategy should be checked together.

Mailer boxes with inserts

Paperboard or corrugated inserts control product movement and presentation. Clearances, finger access and material recovery should be validated with the actual product.

Corrugated mailer buyer FAQ

Which corrugated flute should I use for a mailer box?

E-flute is often selected for compact printed mailers and detailed presentation, while B-flute provides more cushioning and stiffness for heavier or more vulnerable products. The final choice should be reviewed against product weight, box dimensions, insert support, courier handling and print expectations.

What dimensions are needed for an accurate mailer quotation?

Provide the required internal length, width and depth, together with the packed product dimensions, total weight, orientation, clearance and any insert or tissue requirements. Internal dimensions should be confirmed around the actual pack-out rather than copied from an outside measurement.

Can corrugated mailer boxes be printed inside and outside?

Yes. External and internal print coverage can be planned separately, including solid colours or graphics. Artwork should account for folds, locking tabs, exposed kraft edges, rub areas and the appearance of the opened box.

Should a mailer box be transit tested before production?

A structural sample and representative packed-product test are advisable when product value, weight, fragility or delivery conditions create risk. Drop, compression and courier trials can reveal excess movement, corner impact or closure issues before mass production.
