Magnetic Closure Boxes

Rigid paper boxes with magnetic closures for premium packaging projects.

Buyer guide

Plan the closure, hinge and insert as one system

A magnetic rigid box should be specified around the complete opening experience as well as the packed product. Board thickness, hinge allowance, magnet position, front-flap overlap, wrap paper, insert height and finished tolerances work together to determine alignment and closure feel.

One-piece hinged magnetic boxes

The lid, spine and base stay connected for a controlled book-style opening. This structure supports premium presentation and arrives assembled, but it occupies more packing and freight volume.

Foldable magnetic boxes

Pre-scored side panels and reinforced corners allow the box to ship flat and assemble near the packing line. Corner adhesion, magnetic registration and repeatable squareness should be validated with a physical sample.

Magnetic presentation kits

A fitted paperboard, molded-fibre or foam insert can organise several components and control the reveal. Product clearances, finger access, accessory sequence and retention need to be reviewed together.

Magnetic box specification checklist

  • Internal dimensions, product orientation, packed weight and accessories
  • Board thickness, wrap paper, hinge allowance and lid gap
  • Magnet position, closure strength, flap overlap and insert height
  • Print, finish, quantity, assembled or flat packing and destination

Validate the opening experience

A representative product and physical sample help confirm fit, hinge movement, magnet alignment, closure feel, insert retention and finishing before mass production.

Magnetic closure box buyer FAQ

Which magnetic box construction should I choose?

A one-piece hinged rigid box provides an immediately assembled presentation, while a foldable magnetic box can reduce storage and freight volume before final assembly. Product weight, box size, opening experience, packing labour and delivery route should be compared before the structure is selected.

How are the magnets positioned and concealed?

Magnets are normally recessed within the wrapped board at matched positions in the closing flap and front wall. Their diameter, pull strength, spacing and polarity should be checked together with board thickness, paper wrap and lid alignment so the flap closes cleanly without visible hardware.

What information is needed to design a fitted insert?

Share accurate product dimensions, orientation, packed weight, accessories, required clearances and any presentation sequence. Insert material, finger access, retention points and the outer box dimensions should be developed as one complete pack-out.

Should I approve a physical magnetic box sample?

A physical sample is recommended for checking product fit, hinge movement, magnet alignment, closure feel, lid gap, insert retention and finishing. Final mass-production approval should follow the confirmed structure, materials and artwork.
